Born to Asako Kijana and Chukan Siaya in Sanji Mura in Giryu province, to a dye maker who made Inks for the Scribes of Kyuden Asako. At least 6 times a year from early childhood Tonoji made the trek to the Castle with his father. They supplied inks and such and visited the Shrine to the Kami. Then visit the Library and see all the scrolls that hold what was written long before his time. From early age this drew him and soon he started to learn what was written. He dreamed of joining the scribes and mark down the histories of the land and teaching’s of Kami and others. Yet soon he also started to hear and see things. The leaders of the Phoenix clan during visits to the temple learned of his budding skills and enrolled him in learning ways of samurai and shugenja.
Learning more of ways of the Elements he grew more torn between his love of books and way of Isawa and their love of books and knowledge and the pull of the elements not just fire but all and that strange element between them that of void that he could feel as well. His duty to clan came first and he followed into the school that would open him more to elements and set him on path. With the lore and teachings he soon grew to feel he needed to see if could understand how other clans viewed and worked with elements. To better understand how to use them with each other. When his sensei asked if he would like the chance to represent the clan at a new school he was honored and excited for the chance. He hurried to join hoping that new school would give him the chance to avoid some of the abuse he would receive from the other boys he grew up with who always gave him grief for being so small and young looking.
With new school he soon was able to slip into the background. Soon though he started to see others students, who would make larger role in the world. He could sense the fates guiding them and remembering his home and the need to learn these things. How many others had lived and had major roles in world yet the knowledge that they learned had been lost. He vowed not to let that happen meeting a (Princess and prince of another clan) Mirumoto Kazuhiko and Mirumoto Tatsumi. He made it his role to watch and document their lives to then add to library. Yet another member of his school soon drew his eye and he felt something was hidden so he started to wait and work harder to understand the history of Daidoji Kabe.
